About BuyMindfully
BuyMindfully is an application designed to help consumers make better purchasing decisions. The platform focuses on identifying and promoting products that are durable, reliable, and bring you lasting satisfaction. By choosing quality products, you not only benefit yourself but also contribute positively to the environment.
The Vision
I believe that mindful purchasing can lead to a more sustainable and satisfying lifestyle. My goal is to empower consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions, ultimately driving demand for higher quality and more sustainable products.
Sometimes buying a more expensive product can be cheaper for you in the long run, but sometimes a more expensive product does not correlate with quality and durability. The objective of this platform is to gather feedback from customers around the world regarding their purchases, so we can start rating products and manufacturers for their quality and durability.
I had this idea cooking in my mind for quite some time, but when I read Kepano's blog post Buy Wisely and his tweets about how he tracked his products in Obsidian, I noticed that other people also think about that and could be a nice Project for me to start.

Next Steps
I have a lot of ideas for BuyMindfully. I first wanted to get the platform out there and gather feedback, but here are some of the next ideas I've been considering:
- Basic Improvements on UI: There are still some spots in the platform that requires a bit more love.
- Categories for Products: Introducing categories like Electronics, Kitchen, and more to help organizing their products better and make it easier to find and evaluate similar items.
- More Product Details: Adding more comprehensive product information, including images, versions, and other relevant specifications.
- Closing Product Usage: Enabling features to mark products as retired, broken, or sold.
- Makers Page: Creating dedicated pages for manufacturers with detailed information about the company, including an overall rating based on user feedback and product performance.
- Different Currencies: Allowing users to log and track product purchases in various currencies.
